Deool

Deool is a 2011 Indian-Marathi language film directed by Umesh Vinayak Kulkarni.It is a dark comedy film which follows the story of Keshya, of Mangrul village, who announces that Lord Dattatreya will come to their village and bless them with their holy presence. Keshya works for Bhau and one day he takes Bhau’s cow for grazing. Bhau’s cow on reaching a hill scratches its head on a tree, to which Lord Dattatreya emerges. Keshya, a witness to this, addresses this issue to Anna, a village respected figure. This incident gets noticed by a journalist and it comes into light. Chaos ensues as politicians, journalists and opportunists see an opportunity in this incident for their benefit. Deool was liked by audiences for the underlying message it gave.
