The Tashkent Files is a Hindi film directed by Vivek Agnihotri. The film is set in the 1960s and delves into the strange and peculiar death of India’s second Prime Minister, Lal Bahadur Shashtri. After a probe is launched and a conspiracy theory web is spun into the death, becoming a carefully planned and calculated assassination, an investigation begins into the case under a young and enthusiastic journalist named Raagini Phule, whose curiosity leads her to puzzling leads and information. The film features Shweta Basu Prasad, Mithun Chakraborty, Naseeruddin Shah, Pankaj Tripathi and Mandira Bedi in prominent roles.
