Nil Battey Sannata

Nil Battey Sannata released internationally as The New Classmate, is a 2015 indian Hindi - language comedy - drama film directed by Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari in her feature debut. Produced by Anand L. Rai, Ajay rai and Alan McAlex under the banners of Colour Yellow productions and JAR Pictures, the film was written by Iyer, Neeraj Singh, Pranjal Choudhary and Nitesh Tiwari. The film follows the story of Chanda who is a school dropout and works at four different jobs, one of them is being a maid at Dr. Diwan’s. She has a Daughter, Apeksha (Apu) who has managed to reach the SSC year of her school but has no interest in studies. Dr. Diwan suggests Chanda to hire a tutor for Apu but Chanda is not able to afford a tutor. In order to help her daughter do better at school, Chanda enrols herself in Apu’s class. She wants to learn maths and tutor Apu herself. Chanda finds it hard at first but manages to make progress. This embarrasses Apu and Chanda also has to go through some hardships but she is adamant in helping Apu in her studies and one day sees Apu as a successful IAS officer.
