Tasher Desh is an Indian Bengali fantasy that is a trippy adaptation of Rabindranath Tagore’s play by Indian Media. The film is directed by Q known for his film Gandu. After looking at many plays based on Rabindranath Tagore's writing he finally came up with his piece of writing although most of the dialogues and all songs are original. The film made its international premiere in 2012 at the 7th Rome International Film Festival. The cast of the film includes Tillotama Shome as Queen, Rii Sen as Horotoni / Widow, Imaad Shah as Ruiton, Anubrata Basu as Friend, Tinu Verghese as Oracle, Maya Tideman as Tekkani, Joyraj Bhattacharjee as Storyteller / Tash King, and Soumyak Kanti De Biswas as Prince. The film is based on imagination and fantasy as a story is about a prince who escaped his destiny, the prison of his mind. He lands in a place that incites women to revolt and land of fascists. The story is about the Utopian revolution, a fantasy about destiny and humanity with social control.
