The Help

The Help is a 2011 American English - language written and directed by Tate Taylor. It is a period drama starring Jessica Chastain, Viola Davis, Bryce Dallas Howard, Allison Janney, Octavia Spencer and Emma Stone. The movie is set in the 1960s and follows the story of an aspiring author during the civil rights movement in Jackson, Mississippi. He decides to write a book showing the point of view of African American maids on the white families for which they work. Also, he writes about the hardships they go through on a daily basis and exposing racism faced by these maids.
