The Gold Rush is a silent adventure comedy-drama written and directed by Charles Chaplin. Inspired by the Klondike Gold Rush, it tells the story of a lone Prospector and Big Jim on a mission to find fortune in Alaska, who get trapped in a cabin during a blizzard. Nominated for an Academy Award for Best Music (Original Score), the film stars Charles Chaplin as the Tramp. The supporting cast includes Tom Murray, Mack Swain, Malcolm Waite, Georgia Hale, Tiny Sandford, Henry Bergman, and Sam Allen, among many others.
