The Book of Eli

The protagonist of the film, Eli, a nomad in a post-apocalyptic world who sets out to deliver a copy of an enigmatic book to a secure place on the US West Coast. As a vagrant, he navigates a devastated, post-apocalyptic America, guarding the holy book that contains the keys to humanity's deliverance. The Book of Eli is an American post-apocalyptic neo-Western action film written by Gary Whitta, directed by The Hughes Brothers and released by Warner Bros. Pictures and Summit Entertainment. Denzel Washington, Gary Oldman, Mila Kunis, Ray Stevenson, Jennifer Beals, Frances de la Tour and Michael Gambon play prominent roles in the film produced by Alcon Entertainment and Silver Pictures. Recently, a prequel television series was announced to be in development.
