 Cherry, a young girl goes missing. A hacker, Gareth, is called in for the investigation. He asks the investigators to let this go but later reveals that Cherry is not a real human being. She is an AI developed by Gareth to combat child predators and human trafficking. The film explores poignant questions about the meaning of autonomy, oppression, and what it means to be human. Written and directed by Franklin Ritch, The Artifice Girl is an independent science fiction film. It stars Ritch as Garreth, the internet vigilante who creates the AI.
