Dhanush produced this Tamil movie Thanga Magan and acts in the lead role as well. The movie stars Amy Jackson and Samantha Ruth Prabhu as the leads, along with Dhanush. Director Valraj comes up with this plot involving drama and comical elements, which makes the viewers laugh as well as weep. This Tamil movie was also dubbed in Hindi and released as Paap ki Kamai. The story follows the life of Tamizh, whose life turns upside down after his father commits suicide. Tamizh strives to find out the reasons that forced his father in ending his life. Before settling to this title, the makers worked under the title, VIP 2 during its development and later settled with Thanga Magan while denying the reports of it, being titled Tea Kadai Raja, and Thamizh Magan.
