Shonar Pahar

Indian Bengali film Sonar Pahar was released in June 2018, directed and written by Parambrata Chattopadhyay. In the story of a unique friendship, cast members are Tanuja as Upama Mukherjee, Jisshu Sengupta as Shoumya Mukherjee, Soumitra Chatterjee as Rajat, and Srijato Bandhopadhyay as Bitlu. The story describes the life of a 72-year-old retired school teacher living alone. She and her son, Soumya, have a bitter relation and now he is living separately with his wife, Moumita. The owner of a local NGO makes her meet with a 7-year-old orphan boy Biltu. One day suddenly Upama and Biltu went missing and her son realizes the distance he created over the years.
