Sairat

Directed and produced by Nagraj Manjule, Sairat is a 2016 Marathi language romance drama starring Akash Thosar & Rinku Rajguru. The film was a massive box-office success and surpassed 110 crores in revenue, which made it the highest grossing Marathi film of all times. Parshya and Archi fall in love despite their caste difference. Archi's father, an upper caste politician, beats Parshya, who is the son of a lower caste fisherman upon finding out about them. Escaping the harsh environment, Parshya and Archi elope to Hyderabad where they're scraping to live by. A few years later, they're well off and have a son, Akash. One day, Archi decides to call her mother and also unknowingly, their death.
