The dramatic thriller "Rival" centres around a 9-year-old boy named Roman. His mother, Oksana, left to work illegally in Germany, and Roman follows her there. Oksana lives with a 62-year-old German widower named Gert, who suffers from diabetes. Gert tries to make friends with Roman, but the boy struggles for his mother's attention. Suddenly, Oksana becomes ill, and Roman is left alone with Gert. Surprisingly, Gert turns out to be a good playmate until he dies from a stroke. Roman is now trapped in a remote place, along with Gert's corpse. The director of the movie is Marcus Lenz.
