Premier Padmini

Premier Padmini, a 2019 movie, is directed by Ramesh Indira, streaming on zee5. It is a Kannada comedy-drama film, starring Jaggesh as Vinayak and Madhu as Shruti. The movie explores the story of a man in a midlife crisis but develops a change of perspective towards life when he meets his new driver. With this movie, Arjun Janya introduces a new style of music throughout the film. The movie is comprised of a fusion of classical and western-style music. After the release of the movie, “Premier Padmini” has been alleged to copy the character of Nanjundi, played by Pramod. The accusation was about copying the character from a work of writer Vasudhendra’s book Varnamaya. The producer of the movie denies such accusations and stands by the fact, that the character was developed by the screenwriters and may have been inspired by the book “Varnamaya.”
