Prem Rog

Prem rog is a 1982 Hindi language musical romance film directed by Raj kapoor. The film stars Rishi kapoor and Padmini kolhapure. Devdhar is an orphan boy and is friends with Manorama, a girl coming from a rich family. She is the daughter of a wealthy Thakur who believes in age old traditions but is a very kind man. Being a person with pure heart, he saw the capabilities in Devdhar and wanted to help him. Therefore, he sent Devdhar to study abroad. Devdhar returns after eight years as a fine young man. He sees Manorama who is also grown up to be a beautiful woman and instantly falls in love with her. But, due to their financial and social differences, he does not express his love. Soon, Manorama is married to a wealthy Thakur. But, soon after marriage, her husband dies. This resulted in her hardships including her elder brother-in-law raping. Therefore, she returns to her parental home. All the incidents have resulted in her trauma. Devdhar cannot see his love in such a state and tries to make Manorama happy and help her reinstate her faith in love and life. But, her father cannot handle this and wants Devdhar to be away from his daughter.
