A sequel to the 2016 film Pichaikkaran, which translates to "beggar," Pichaikkaran 2 marks the directorial debut of lead actor Vijay Antony (Vettaikaaran, 2009). This Tamil action thriller also stars Kavya Thapar (One Small Story, 2021), Yogi Babu (Mersal, 2017), Hareesh Peradi (Kaithi, 2019), Ajay Ghosh (Pushpa: The Rise - Part 1, 2021) and Mansoor Ali Khan (Captain Prabhakaran, 1991). The film provides an origin story for rich businessman Arul, the protagonist of the previous film, and traces his rise to money, fame and power, along with criminal offences along the way.
