Padmaavat

Padmavat is a 2018 Indian Hindi - language epic period drama film directed by Sanja Leela Bhansali. The film stars Deepika Padukone, Shahid kapoor and Ranveer Singh. In 13th century Afghanistan, Jalal-ud-din Khilji plans to rule Delhi. But he sees his nephew, Allauddin Khilji as a threat to his throne, therefore, in order to please him, he gets his daughter Mehrunisa married to him and also gifts him the slave, Malik kafur. But, still Allauddin murders his uncle and his ministers. On the other hand, Sinhala princess Padmavati meets Rajput ruler Maharawal Ratan Singh while he is looking for some rare pearls for his first wife. The two grow close and eventually get married. The two are blessed by the priest, Raghav Chetan but later, he is exiled from the kingdom on account of spying on the King and Queen. Chetan then goes to Khilji and tells him about the profound beauty of Queen Padmavati as he is interested in priceless items. Khilji gets curious and invites the Mewar King but the invitation is denied. This angers Khilji and he sets out on a mission to look at Padmavati’s face.
