Directed by Academy Award winner Christopher Nolan, the American biographical film follows the life of the eponymous American theoretical physicist who is often credited to be ‘the father of the atomic bomb’. Oppenheimer was a physics professor at the University of California, Berkeley. He contributed significantly towards the Manhattan Project during the Second World War. The film is based on the book American Prometheus by Kai Bird and Martin J. Sherwin. With a screenplay by Nolan, the film is produced by Nolan along with Emma Thomas and Charles Roven. Cilian Murphy plays the lead role of Oppenheimer. The star-studded cast includes Emily Blunt, Matt Damon, Robert Downey Jr, Florence Pugh, Rami Malek, Benny Safdie, Josh Hartnett, Dane DeHaan, Jack Quaid, Matthew Modine, Dylan Arnold, Alden Ehrenreich and Josh Peck, among others.
