Nagarkirtan

Written & Directed by Kaushik Ganguly, Nagarkirtan Bengali is a 2017 Bengali language film starring Riddhi Sen, Bidipta Chakraborty & Ritwick Chakraborty. The story spans through the life of Parimal, a trans woman hailing from rural Bengal. Parimal runs away from home after being betrayed by her teacher and joins eunuchs who sing at the traffic to make a living. She falls in love with Madhu, a delivery boy and a flute player. Together, they make a run to raise money for a sex reassigned surgery but transphobic society doesn’t approve of their dreams as a result Parimal hangs herself in prison after getting arrested.
