Khufiya

"Khufiya," a 2023 Hindi-language spy thriller film directed by Vishal Bhardwaj, is a screen adaptation of Amar Bhushan's espionage novel "Escape to Nowhere." The film features Tabu, Ali Fazal, and Wamiqa Gabbi in leading roles and was released on Netflix on October 5, 2023. Set in the post-Kargil War period, the story commences with the murder of Heena Rehman, a Bangladeshi woman believed to work for ISI, by the Bangladeshi Defense Minister, Mirza. Krishna is assigned to uncover a mole within R&AW that's leaking defence secrets. Their suspicions fall on Ravi (Ali Fazal), a fellow R&AW employee. As investigations proceed, shocking revelations surface regarding Heena's death. It becomes apparent that Ravi wasn't the sole perpetrator; the Indian Minister of Home Affairs had also exposed vital information to the CIA to protect a nuclear deal with the USA. Yet, these details remain concealed. In the midst of the drama, Ravi's family attempts to flee, leading to a series of dramatic encounters. Charu (Wamiqa Gabbi) is shot but survives, sparking a quest to reunite her with her son, who is now in the United States with Ravi. Krishna trains Charu and sends her to the USA, setting the stage for an intense sequence of espionage, vengeance, and suspense. The film's stellar cast includes Tabu, Ali Fazal, and Wamiqa Gabbi, who each deliver riveting performances in this high-stakes spy thriller.
