Joshi Ki Kamble is based on disruptive issues like reservation and caste system without getting involved in a political or social debate. Sanjay is a sincere and ambitious student who aspires to become a doctor. It is revealed to Sanjay, who goes by the surname of Kamble, that he was born as Joshi. Once his true identity is revealed to him, he faces an identity crisis and goes to great lengths to save himself from being a victim of caste discrimination. The film makes a subtle but eye-opening commentary on how caste-based bias is undesired in the modern world that values merit over origin.
