Iqbal

Iqbal, a 2005 movie, is directed by Nagesh Kukunoor. It is a sports and drama film starring Shreyas Talpade, Naseeruddin Shah in the leads, and Kapil Dev in a special appearance.  Iqbal is a deaf and mute young man who dreams to become a cricketer and play for India. His father, on the other hand, does not believe in his dream and asks him to focus on the crops and learn about farming, farming being a stable profession. Later, Khadija, enrolls him in an academy, but soon he gets kicked out because of his immense talent that is threatening for the star cricketer in that academy. Mohit accepts Iqbal as his student and trains him as he was once a great cricketer. Towards the end of the movie, Iqbaal gets a chance to be a part of a team and plays marvelously in the fields. Soon the national team selector would be on the matches to which Guruji of the academy tries to bribe Iqbal. In the end, Iqbal plays with the same fiery pace and gets in the eyes of the Indian team selector, Kapil Dev, and makes a place for himself in the Indian team.
