Gandhi, My Father, a 2007 movie, is directed by Feroz Abbas Khan. It is an Indian biography movie starring Akshaye Khanna and Darshan Jariwala in the leads. The film prospects the relationship between Mahatma Gandhi and his son Harilal Gandhi. The movie shows the strained and complex relationship between the father and son. Harilal, Mahatma Gandhi's son, dreams about studying abroad and embellishes as a barrister just like his father. Mahatma Gandhi, on the other hand, has other dreams from his son. He wants his son to be a part of the revolution and stand for the causes in India. Towards the end of the movie, Harilal and Mahatma’s relationship tears apart, and with political stiff heated up, Gandhi’s assassination takes place. Harilal attends his father’s funeral and, soon after, dies of poverty with no identity built.
