English Vinglish

English Vinglish, a 2012 movie, is directed by Gauri Shinde. It is a comedy-drama movie starring  Sridevi in the lead role. A cameo role is played by Amitabh Bachchan in the movie.  The film is about an Indian housewife who takes care of her family and still struggles with the modern lifestyle because of English.   Shashi Godbole, representing a housewife who determines to learn English when she visits her older sister in NewYork City. Shashi secretly enrolls herself in an English-speaking class and explores the culture of NewYork as well. Even though with her different nationality, Shashi can win over not only the instructor but other students as well.  David gives her the certificate and implies that she passed with distinction. Shashi's husband is taken aback by such a change in his wife and promises her the respect she deserves.
