Produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, the American superhero film based on Doctor Strange from Marvel comics is a sequel to Doctor Strange (2016). Written by Michael Waldron and directed by Sam Raimi, the 28th film of the Marvel Cinematic Universe sees Benedict Cumberbatch reprising his role as Stephen Strange alongside Elizabeth Olsen, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Xochitl Gomez, and Rachel McAdams, among others. The movie navigates the life of Dr Stranger a few months after the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021) who casts a forbidden spell that opens the doorway into the multiverse and encounters new adversaries whose threat to humanity is too great for the powerful Strange, Wong and Wanda Maximoff. With music by Danny Elfman, it is a part of Phase Four of the MCU.
