A passionate tale of love, fear and obsession as three fated individuals get intertwined in one another's desires with no way to escape. Kiran Awasthi is a beautiful college student with a secret admirer, Rahul Mehra, that is obsessed with her and routinely stalks her. But little does he know that Kiran is bethrotted to an officer in the Navy, Sunil Malhotra, with whom she has been in love with for a long time. To make matters worse, Rahul's father is Sunil's captain. Enraged by the thought of losing Kiran to Sunil, Rahul decides to take some drastic and forceful measures to ensure that she belongs to him. Kiran on the other hand is deadly scared of Rahul's deranged state of mind but is riddled with fear regarding her lover's safety at his hands. What will the three lovers do in such a conundrum? 

Darr is a Hindi psychological romantic thriller film written by Honey Irani and Javed Siddiqui and directed and produced by Yash Chopra, under his banner Yash Raj Films. Sunny Deol, Juhi Chawla, Shahrukh Khan, Annu Kapoor, Tanvi Azmi, Dalip Tahil, Anupam Kher, Piloo J. Wadia and Vikas Anand play significant roles. The film was well recieved with critics praising the direction, screenplay, soundtrack, cinematography, costumes and the performances of the cast particularly Juhi Chawla and Shah Rukh Khan. It bagged the year's National Film Award for Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment, Best Cinematography and Best Comediam. The success of the film made it the third-highest grossing film of the year in India, and the highest-grossing Indian film of the year in the overseas markets.
