Dances with Wolves is a 1990 American western epic drama film directed by Kevin Costner. The film follows the story of First Lieutenant John J. Dunbar, in 1864. He is wounded in the war, and decides to take a final charge at the enemy, before dying. Surprisingly, his attempt to sacrifice his life, results in the Union Army’s benefit and they counter-attack at the enemy. Soon he is awarded for his bravery. As the story progresses, we learn that Dunbar has gone to live out the Wild West life, before it ends. He soon meets the Sioux tribe and they’re both skeptical of each other. But when they spend some time together, a friendship strikes between the two. Dunbar is given the nickname, Dances with Wolves, by the tribe. In the end the tribe is captured and Dunbar moves to the mountains, as a lone wolf.
