Chhalaang is a Hindi sports drama comedy film about an uninspired and lazy PT teacher named Monty whose competency is challenged by a new and proffienct coach that joins the school he works. In an attempt to prove himself better, Monty fails repeatedly even losing his lady love to the new capable man. But the bruises to his ego make him resilient and he refuses to give up. To win back everything he has lost, including the respect of his students, Monty challenges his rival to a sports battle asserting that whoever wins gets to keep their job and the respect that comes with it. Will Monty pull up his socks and overcome this challenge?
The film is written by Luv Ranjan, Aseem Arrora and Zeishan Quadri and directed by Hansal Mehta. Bhushan Kumar distributed the film produced by Ajay Devgan, Luv Ranjan and Ankur Garg. The film stars Rajkummar Rao, Nushrat Bharucha, Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub and Saurabh Shukla in lead roles alongside Ila Arun, Satish Kaushik, Jatin Sarna, Baljinder Kaur and Baljinder Kaur. Hitesh Sonik, Guru Randhawa–Vee, Yo Yo Honey Singh and Vishal–Shekhar composed the music for Chhalaang.
