Braveheart

Braveheart shows how William Wallace, a Scottish rebel leads his country to freedom in the First War of Scottish Independence against the tyranny of King Edward I of England. Adapted for the screen from the 15th-century poem, "The Actes and Deidis of the Illustre and Vallyeant Campioun Schir William Wallace", the historical drama stars Mel Gibson, who is known for the 1979 Australian dystopian action film Mad Max and the 2004 American epic biblical drama film The Passion of Christ, in the lead, who is also the director. He is supported by Sophie Marceau, Angus Macfadyen, Patrick McGoohan, Catherine McCormack and Brendan Gleeson. The film won five Academy Awards including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Cinematographer, Best Makeup and Best Sound Effects Editing.
