Bobby, directed and produced by Raj Kapoor was released on 28 September 1973 is a tale of love between Raj Nath (Rishi Kapoor), the son of a rich Hindu businessman Mr. Nath (Pran) and Bobby Braganza (Dimple Kapadia), the daughter of a poor Goan Christian fisherman Jack Braganza (Prem Nath). It was love at first sight for Raj when he saw Bobby but their love was forbidden as their family status was very different and Raj’s family disapproved of Bobby and her status. Raj insists to his father that he loves Bobby and wants to marry her so Mr. Nath invites Jack to talk about Raj and Bobby's wedding but ends up insulting him. Mr. Nath even offered Jake money to keep his daughter away from Raj which was insulting and Jack left with Bobby. Mr. Nath fixes Raj’s marriage with Alka (Farida Jalal) who is from a rich family but Raj runs away. He and Bobby run away and Mr. Nath puts a prize on their heads to get them back. Greedy Prem Chopra (Prem Chopra) sendss his goons to kidnap Raj and Bobby. The goons ended up beating Raj but the police came at the right time. Seeing their fathers Raj and Bobby jump from the waterfall and so did their fathers who saved the two. They realized that they love their children and can’t come in between their love.
