Ajay Dixit is a tortured and narcissistic history professor married to a beautiful epileptic wife Nisha. Their marriage is suffering through a tense period but is further accelerated by a political rift initated by Dixit when he abuses his student, MLA Vishwas Raghuvanshi. Set against the backdrop of Europe's holocaust monuments, the couple undertakes a self-revelatory journey of exploration to work through their marital issues as well as the conflicts awaiting them back home. Bawaal is a Hindi romantic drama film written and directed by Nitesh Tiwari and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala and Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari under Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment and Earthsky Pictures. Varun Dhawan, Janhvi Kapoor, Manoj Pahwa, Anjuman Saxena and Mukesh Tiwari play lead roles in the movie. The film's music was composed by Mithoon, Tanishk Bagchi and Akashdeep Sengupta. The historical context utilised in the film came under severe criticism for its banality and trivialisation of the Nazi war crimes.
