Basu Poribar

Basu Paribar is a 2019 Bengali language film directed by Suman Ghosh which reunites the lead characters Soumitra Chatterjee and Aparna Sen after almost 18 years. Manjani and her husband celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary in their house ‘Komolini’. Friends and family join them on the occasion but amidst waits for them dark secrets which unfold slowly but surely. The family hiding some deeply painful memories dwell into those and what happens next forms the rest of the movie. The film throws light on the much unreal happy faces of pretentious relationships and how every mask comes down with the slightest bit of knock and what follows is no less than an expected ugly revelation.
