Ashta Chamma

Ashtachemma Lavanya is a naive young girl who is love-striken with the actor Mahesh Babu, hoping to one day get married to him. When Mahesh Babu marries Namrata Sirodkar, she is hearbroken but decides to settle for someone who is named Mahesh instead. Her neighbour Anand is fed up with her tantrums and decides to set her up with a handsome man named Mahesh. In the classic comedy of erros fashion, the characters run into a series of hilarious incidents owing to Lavanya's obsession with Mahesh. This Telugu romantic comedy drama is an adaptation of Oscar Wilde's play The Importance of Being Earnest. It is written and directed by Mohana Krishna Indraganti and stars Nani, Swathi Reddy, Srinivas Avasarala, Tanikella Bharani, Bhargavi, Hema, Jhansi, Madhumani, Inturi Vasu, Rachakonda Vidyasagar, Sivannarayana and Ragini. The soundtrack for Ashta Chamma is composed by Kalyana Ramana. The movie was highly praised for its performances and quirky film-making. It earned Swathi Reddy the Filmfare Award and Nandi Award for Best Actress.
