Artist, directed by Shyamaprasad, is a 2013 Malayalam movie starring Fahadh Faasil as Michael and Ann Augustine as Gayatri. The winner of Filmfare Award South for Best Actress and Director falls into the drama genre and streams on Amazon Prime Video. Penned by the director, Artist, depicts the story of Michael and Gayatri, who stays together until everything changes after Michael becomes blind due to an accident. The story binds with their emotions, emerging out of the personal differences they carry. Artist is an adaptation from the paperback novel “Dreams in Prussian Blue” by Paritosh Uttam, exploring two characters driven by individual ambitions. The Kerala State Film and Filmfare Awards South winner, Ann Augustine, found herself so connected to Gayatri’s role that she denies using glycerine during the shoot. Even though the movie was a success, Ann went back to Banglore for further studies rather than signing any movies.
