Based on the life of Hensman Anthony, a Bengali poet of Portuguese-Indian origin, Antony Firingee charts the journey of the protagonist who meets a courtesan and falls in love with her. Much to the chagrin of both the Hindu Bengali and the Anglo Indian communities, the two get married. Despite the fame and love he enjoys, he is ultimately ostracised by society.
