Annihilation

Annihilation is a 2018 science fiction film directed & written by Alex Garland. The movie revolves around a U.S. government secret facility Area X where Lena cellular biology professor and former soldier is taken and questioned as the sole survivor of an expedition. The zone known as "the Shimmer". Three years back, Shimmer emerged from a meteor. Kane, Lena’s husband and an Army Special Forces member appear out of a sudden after a whole year of disappearance. A new team was formed by Dr Ventress which included Lena, physicist Josie Radek, geomorphologist Cassie "Cass" Sheppard , and paramedic Anya. As the team enters the Shimmer they all blackout. When the group wakes up they realize that they had been blacked out for longer than a day. They are attacked by various mutated animals where a mutant bear drags Cass away, killing her. She comes back to the normal world and finds Kane who has recovered. She asks him if he is he to which he replies "I don't think so" and asks her the same question to which she says nothing. The two embrace each other and their eyes Shimmer.
