Shubho, an unemployed young man who has inherited an ancestral home and receives enough income from rent to pay the bills, and Mishtu, a professor who lives with an alcoholic father, both experience the monotony of metropolitan life in their daily tasks. Both are emotionally damaged people who struggle with the weight of time. They try to suffocate themselves in daily ritualism. Shubho observes Mishtu go to work every morning from his balcony. The two pass each other briefly on a stairway covered in autumn leaves at a specific moment each day, but they never speak. Although there is a potential connection between the two, the meetings do not result in a fully developed relationship. Ananta is written and directed by Abhinandan Dutta and stars Anindya Pulak Banerjee, Ritwick Chakraborty, and Sohini Sarkar.
