Anand

Anand, directed by Hrishikesh Mukherjee was released in 1971 starring Amitabh Bachchan & Rajesh Khanna and is a Hindi Drama which revolves around the life of Anand, a cancer patient. Bhaskar is an oncologist who treats the poor for free but is often sad thinking of all the illnesses. He is a stubborn man who does not treat imaginary ailments of the wealthy. Dr. Kulkarni on the other hand treats the imaginary illnesses of the wealthy and uses that money to treat the poor. Kulkarni makes Bhaskar meet Anand who has a rare type of cancer and has very few days to live but still is a happy man and tries his best to help people which is a complete contrast to Bhaskar. On his deathbed Anand is surrounded by his friends and passes away peacefully. This changes Bhaskar’s philosophy on life and changes him as a person.
