Based on the 1929 Erich Maria Remarque novel of the same name, All Quiet on the Western Front is a German anti-war film directed by Edward Berger. The film narrates the story of Paul Bäumer - a young German soldier on the Western Front of World War I, who, along with his comrades, experience how the initial euphoria of war turns into desperation and fear as they fight in the trenches for their lives, and each other. Serving as Germany's submission for the Academy Award for Best International Feature Film at the 95th Academy Awards, the film features performances from Daniel Brühl, Albrecht Schuch, Sebastian Hülk, Felix Kammerer, Aaron Hilmer, Devid Striesow, and Edin Hasanovic, among many others.
