Directed by Sujay Dahake, Ajoba is a 2014 Marathi language film starring Anita Date, Om Bhutkar & Chinmay Kulkarni. The story highlights the human- leopard conflict of Maharashtra. It's based on a real story & a real subject dealt by wildlife conservationist and ecologist Vidya Athreya. Ajoba, a leopard enters the human territory and Purva Rao gets a call to encounter the situation in her supervision. For further research on the animal, they insert an electronic chip into the animal to know his whereabouts which will eventually help in security purposes. Over a period of 29 days, the animal covered a distance of 120kms from Malshej Ghat to Sanjay Gandhi National Park. One of the lines that stays with the audience is, 'If we go into their habitat to take pictures it's acceptable, but if they come to human territory in search of water, they are killed'.
