Abhimaan

Abhimaan was directed by Hrishikesh Mukherjee and released in 1973 starring Jaya Bachchan, Asrani & Amitabh Bachchan. The movie is a musical drama and is known for its famous songs. The movie revolves around the love story of Subir and Uma. Subir is a famous singer who falls head over heels for Uma, a small village girl with a voice on an angel. Hearing her sing he immediately realises that he wants her and the two get married. He helps Uma with her music and helps her build a career out of it. At first everything is great but as Uma becomes more famous than Subir jealousy starts getting in the middle. Blinded by jealousy, Subir ruins his own marriage with Uma because of his pride and ego. Due to this the couple separates and Uma gets pregnant with his child. Sadly Uma has a miscarriage and it breaks her internally but it also became the reason for Subir to realise his mistake. He apologises and the couple gets back together in an emotional scene.
