Salim Ahamed’s movie fell into a controversy regarding the plot when filmmaker Abbas Kalathod accused the story of being plagiarized and taken from his short film "Maruppacha." However, Salim denies such allegations and remarked Abbas making such comments before the release of the movie when he has not yet seen the movie.
