A Room with a View is a 1985 romance drama film directed by James Ivory. The movie revolves around a young English girl, Lucy ,who is travelling with her cousin sister and haperone, Charlotte Bartlett to Florence. At the dinner they meet up with other British guests; the Reverend Mr Beebe, two elderly sisters, the Misses Alan ,the romance author, Eleanor, Mr Emerson and his son, George. The girls are disappointed by their room’s view and Mr Emerson and George offer to exchange rooms and through Mr Beebe mediations the switch is made. During a small tour Lucy sees a man getting stabbed which scarred her and she faints but George finds her. The girls return to England and Lucy is engaged to Cecil Vyse, a wealthy and socially prominent man who is snobbish and pretentious. Lucy learns that Mr Emerson is staying at Sir Harry Otway's rental cottage, with George visiting on weekends. With George there, Lucy’s feelings for him flooded back. After a series of events Lucy breaks off her marriage with Cecil. The girl is confronted by Mr. Emerson and finally realizes her true feelings for George. Later the two get married and travel to Florence for their honeymoon.
