Based on the memoir "A Journal for Jordan: A Story of Love and Honor" by Dana Canedy, A Journal for Jordan is an American drama film directed and co-produced by Denzel Washington from a screenplay by Virgil Williams. Based on a true story, the film follows 1st Sgt. Charles Monroe King before he is killed in action in Baghdad, as he authors a journal for his son, intended to tell him how to live a decent life despite growing up without a father. The film features performances from Michael B. Jordan, who also co-produced the film, and Chanté Adams in the lead roles, alongside performances from Jalon Christian, Robert Wisdom, and Tamara Tunie in supporting roles, among many others.
