The Bengali-language historical drama film directed by Arun Roy is based on the attack on Writers’ Building by three members of the revolutionary underground group, Bengal Volunteers. Produced by Kan Singh Sodha, the plot delves into the lives and contributions of Binoy Basu, Bada Gupta and Dinesh Gupta, who entered the Writer’s Building, British India Secretariat of Bengal, on the 8th of December, 1930 at Dalhousie Square, now renamed B.B.D. Bagh, to assassinate the infamous General N.S. Simpson, who was a British Inspector. With the soundtrack album written and composed by Soumya Rit, the cast includes Kinjal Nanda as Binoy, Arna Mukhopadhyay as Badal, Remoo as Dinesh along with Saswata Chatterjee, Kharaj Mukherjee, Anuska Chakraborty, Gulshanara Khatun, Debraj Mukherjee, Sankar Debnath and Bipasha Saha, among others.
