Sreeleela reacts to trolling and comparisons with Samantha, says 'Pushpa 2's Kissik is not your average item song'

Pushpa 2 is one of the most anticipated films in Indian cinema and is scheduled to release on December 5, 2024. The new song, Kissik, featuring Sreeleela, has been released and has quickly gone viral. Comparisons are being drawn with Samantha's chart-topping number, Oo Antava Mama, from the first installment of the film. While many fans have expressed excitement, a section of the audience has not been impressed with the new song, sparking mixed reactions on social media.

The film’s promotions are in full swing, and today, Sreeleela interacted with the press to discuss her upcoming film, Robinhood, which also stars Nithiin in a lead role. During the press conference, a journalist asked her about the trolling and comparisons with Samantha. In response, Sreeleela stated, "Kissik is not your average item song. There is so much hidden, and all your queries will be answered on December 5, 2024, when you see me alongside Allu Arjun."

Sreeleela on doing an item number in Pushpa 2

For Sreeleela, this marks her first time performing a special song. When asked why she chose Pushpa 2, she revealed, "I have turned down close to 20 special songs before Pushpa. But the moment I heard the story and context of this song, I immediately agreed to it. Once again, Kissik is not a typical item number. Wait a few more days, and you'll understand everything."

Allu Arjun reprises his role as the lead in Pushpa 2, and Sreeleela shared that dancing with the "ICON Star" was an incredible experience. After a string of box-office flops in 2023, Sreeleela had fewer releases in 2024. She is now gearing up for Robinhood, which is slated to hit screens on December 25, 2024. However, she has been making headlines for her performance in Pushpa 2’s special song, for which she has reportedly been paid a whopping ₹2 crore.

Mythri Movie Makers is producing this highly awaited sequel to the blockbuster Pushpa, with music composed by Devi Sri Prasad (DSP). Rashmika Mandanna also reprises her role as the female lead in the film. Watch this space for more updates on this project.
