Sidhant Gupta on his recent success with Jubilee: We can carve our own fate; I feel I did that | Exclusive

The one actor who has proved that the "star is born" in Jubilee is Sidhant Gupta. The actor has been a part of the industry for a long time and has had some stints in TV series. Now, after a wait of almost a decade, Sidhant has finally gotten credit for his stupendous performance as Jay Khanna in Vikramaditya Motwane's Prime Video series. The actor has been lauded for his portrayal as a "campy" filmmaker-actor who is also romantic at heart.

During an exclusive interview with OTTplay, Sidhant was asked about turning his fate around and winning against the odds. Thus, in real life, how important a role does fate and destiny play in the life of an actor as far as his career is concerned? The actor stated, "Apparently, I think fate has a big role to play. But at the same time, I also believe the other side—that you can carve your fate and pass—because I feel I did that. Nothing was going right for me. I was lost in this city, with millions of people wanting to just do something. I just asked myself why I'm doing this work—whatever it is—and I'm not happy. So why am I doing this? So I started just chasing the 'why.'"

Talking about being courageous, Sidhant further said, "Suddenly, I started finding some answers that gave me a lot of courage. I feel this work needs a lot of courage because you have to be out there and you have to share your whole life, all the emotions that you've lived. That's the thing: if you just find the right intention, I feel fate finds you. It's like it's a match. So, I mean, I believe in both things; short-term fate is there, but I don't know what is going to happen after this. But I'm going to just hold on to the right intention. It's a feeling that feels right. It's nothing else, I think."
