Sharib Hashmi is known for his roles in The Family Man, Vikram Vedha, Tarla, and more. The actor will be next seen in Vishal Furia's upcoming suspense thriller show - '36 Days'. The show also stars Purab Kohli, Shruti Seth, Chandan Roy Sanyal, Sushant Divgikar, Shernaz Patel, Faishal Rashid, Chahat Vig, and Kenneth Desai and is set to premiere on SonyLIV on July 12, 2024.
Recently Sharab sat down with OTTplay for an exclusive conversation where he shared his two cents on the quality vs quantity of content on OTT platforms. When asked if the quality of content also affects artists, the actor said, "If we feel that the quality of something is not good, we don't do it at all. We try to do only what we understand and what we are capable of doing. If we think that something is really good and that good people are involved in it, we do it."
The actor further revealed that he thinks he is blessed because he has always been part of projects where he has been appreciated by the audiences. He said, "Thankfully, whatever I have done so far has received a lot of appreciation and love from the audience. I believe that when people have a lot of options to watch, you have to stand out; there is no other option. Because the OTT audience is very brutal. When you go to the theater to watch a film, you watch the whole film because you have paid for the ticket. On OTT, if people don't find something good, they move on in 10 minutes."
The actor also got candid about how his co-actors and directors have been the biggest influence in his acting career. Speaking about it, Sharib added, "I'm an untrained actor. Whatever I have learned, I learned 'on the job.' My co-actors are my teachers, and I have learned from my directors. So, for me, all my directors and co-actors, including Nitin Kakkar, Kumud Mishra Ji, Manoj sir (Manoj Bajpayee), Raj & DK, have supported me in every way to become better at my work. So, whatever improvement I've made in my work today, it's because of the contributions of everyone I've worked with."
Meanwhile, 36 Days is set to premiere on SonyLIV on July 12, 2024, and will also be available on OTTplay Premium.
