Model-turned-actor Rohman Shawl recently made his Tamil debut with Amaran. The film, starring Sivakarthikeyan and Sai Pallavi, dropped on Netflix in the first week of December. The movie had its theatrical release in October. In an exclusive interview with OTTplay, Rohman spoke about his film Amaran and how influential his ex-partner Sushmita Sen has been in his life. The actor revealed that he learned the concept of self-love from the actress.
On being asked if Sushmita Sen had been influential in his life (in any way), Rohman Shawl told us, "I learned the concept of self-love from her. And that I have most likely imbibed in my life. Because now the love for myself comes first. That's the only way you can love somebody else."

The Amaran actor further mentioned, "This is what I would like to tell everybody, that please love yourself first. I'm saying love yourself, don't be selfish. There is a big difference between being selfish and self-love. Just know that when you start loving yourself, you start loving others. And that's the best way to live. So yes, love yourself."
For the uninitiated, Rohman and Sushmita were in a relationship for nearly four years. Despite their break-up, they have remained good friends. Shawl also shares a good equation with the actress' daughters - Renee and Alisah.
Continuing the chat, Rohman said he hasn't ever been bothered by his personal life being talked about more than his professional one. "See, I've never shied away from my reality. It has never bothered me. It will never bother me. It's just that now that I've started working, I can already see a change. Since Amaran has released, I see a lot of people talking about my work. I think that's a positive thing that I can see," he added.
On a concluding note, Rohman hoped that he would do good work in the future and that his work would be discussed more.
