What was it like for you to work in Once Upon a Time in Kochi?

I am starring in a movie as a female lead for the first time. I was therefore both nervous and eager to learn more about the character. Janaki is a fascinating young lady with very intriguing motives. I might be unable to reveal much about her other characteristics at this time, as it would turn out to be a spoiler. All I can say is that it was a true joy to play her and work on this movie. Raffi Sir’s wife suggested my name for this project.

You got the opportunity to work on both of your films, Njan Prakashan and Makal, with some excellent actors and directors. What would you say about those encounters?

I am truly appreciative that I got to collaborate with so many talented people, especially Lalitha Aunty and Innocent Uncle. Since I grew up seeing them, I count myself lucky to have at least witnessed their live performances and shared screen space with them. The fact that I got to play the granddaughter of Innocent Uncle is the most unbelievable aspect. There are no words to express those feelings, and I am positive that I could never start off better than this.

Another wonderful opportunity I had was working with visionary filmmakers like Sathyan Anthikad and Nadirshah. I used to spend hours sitting with all of them, listening to their accounts about the craft and fun moments on various sets, because I love to hear people tell stories.

Did you always have a strong desire to act in films?

Since I was young, I have loved watching films. My father enjoys watching old movies and is a big film enthusiast. My love for this craft has been cultivated by my early exposure to the medium. My long, sporadic conversations with him over films stoked my interest in acting. I sincerely hoped to be involved in this art form at some point, and happily, I was given some good opportunities.

You are working for a college degree as well. How do you manage to juggle your studies and your work on films?

I am a triple major student at Christ University in Bangalore. Fortunately, I have had little trouble managing both side by side. In essence, I would prefer to take my time and give equal importance to both rather than rushing. I think this is the time in my life when I have the opportunity to explore and make memories that will last a lifetime.

Could you list a few actors you would love to work with?

First and foremost, Mammootty and Mohanlal, and I genuinely hope to share screen space with actress Shobana in the future.

What are your upcoming projects?

I am currently working with Jayasurya and Anushka Shetty in Rojin Thomas' Kathanar - The Wild Sorcerer. I could only have imagined playing such a significant role. The filming is progressing along, and I have to return to Bangalore for my exams in the interim.
