Hina Khan has been working in the entertainment industry for over 15 years. The actress has been a part of some successful television shows, web shows, and films. She is presently gearing up for the release of her web series, Griha Laxmi, which will premiere on Epic On. During her show's promotions, OTTplay exclusively interviewed Hina, who admitted that pay disparity exists in the showbiz. The actress believes actors and actresses should be equally paid if there's the same amount of hard work.
In conversation with us, Hina Khan spoke about pay disparity in the showbiz. While she accepts the issue exists, Hina said she has been paid well for all the projects she has done.
"Well for me, whatever till now I have done, I have been paid well. I think for me as of now, where I stand in my career, whatever I have done, I have received my due. Whether it is television, music videos, or web shows, I have received my due. But what you're trying to say, I do get that. Of course, when the work is equal, when the amount of hard work is equal, then the pay bracket, you know, the payment also should be equal, I do get that," Hina told OTTplay.
The actress agreed to the fact that pay disparity shouldn't happen. Having said that, Hina mentioned she has witnessed some positive changes. "I think to some extent, there are changes. I do see changes where women or the female leads of that particular project are also paid equally. Sometimes more, very less, but sometimes more. So things are changing, but it exists, no denial," added Khan.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Hina rose to fame in the acting space with her stint in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai. The actress played the role of Akshara in the Rajan Shahi show.
